Motivation is the top right arrow of the chart. According to the teaching, it describes the reason your mind goes looking for information and sorts it. Words like fear or guilt name a driver here, with no judgment about you.
Where to read your color
It is read from the birth Sun. The color gives the motivation, the tone the arrow direction. As with digestion, a time one hour off changes the color in about 1 case out of 4.
Across 2,000 random births, moving the time 15 minutes later changes this color in 6.3% of cases, and one hour later in 26.3%. The tone, which sets the arrow direction, changes far more often. Without a precise birth time, read this page as a list of hypotheses. The full shift table is on the variables page.
Our calculator does not show variables yet, for that reason. Spread of the 6 colors across 20,000 random births between 1950 and 2010, calculated with our engine:
1 · Fear
You look first for what could go wrong, and use it to learn and prepare.
For 2 weeks, before each notable decision, write down the first “and then what?” that comes to mind. Each evening, rate how settled the decision left you out of 10.
2 · Hope
You are pulled toward what could be better tomorrow. You sort things by what opens a next step.
For 2 weeks, note each evening the decision of the day and whether it aimed at something better ahead. Count the days it made you want to keep going.
3 · Desire
You move toward what you want to live or reach. A precise want works as your compass.
For 2 weeks, before each choice, write one line on what you want out of it. At the end of each week, compare the choices that went well with and without that line.
4 · Need
You start from what is missing, for you or the group, and look for how to fill it.
For 2 weeks, start each day with one question: what is missing here? Each evening, rate how useful the day felt out of 10.
5 · Guilt
You are carried by what should be done: responsibility and duty toward others.
For 2 weeks, note each “I should” that made you act. At the end, circle the ones that left you satisfied afterwards.
6 · Innocence
You move without a plan or a reason set in advance, out of curiosity.
For 2 weeks, keep one hour a day with no goal. Note what comes out of it and your mood out of 10.
Transference
According to the teaching, each motivation has an opposite color, three steps away: fear and need, hope and guilt, desire and innocence. When your mind acts to meet other people’s expectations, it is said to switch to the opposite color. In your 2 weeks of notes, see which reason comes back most: yours, its opposite or another one.
Our reservations
- No study links the position of the Sun to the way people motivate themselves.
- A motivation shows up over weeks. One day of notes tells you nothing.
- The color names come from Ra Uru Hu’s teaching (Jovian Archive). No study backs the system (details here).
Variables come after the basics. Start with your type and your authority.
