Together, Generators (37%) and Manifesting Generators (31%) make up more than two thirds of charts. They share the same engine and the same strategy. One calculation rule tells them apart.
The rule that separates them
Both have a defined Sacral, which is what makes them Generators. The difference is about the Throat:
- Generator: no motor center (Sacral, Emotions, Willpower or Root) connects to the Throat through a chain of channels.
- Manifesting Generator: at least one motor center connects to the Throat, directly or through other defined centers.
So you cannot guess it from your personality. You need to get your chart and check whether a path of colored lines runs from a motor center to the Throat.
What changes day to day
The system describes the Generator as someone who goes the distance and goes deep, step by step. The Manifesting Generator moves faster, skips steps and changes course more often, sometimes doubling back. Both share the same strategy, to respond. The Manifesting Generator also does well to tell the people involved before switching tracks.
| Generator | Manifesting Generator | |
|---|---|---|
| Share of people | 37.3% | 30.7% |
| Sacral | defined | defined |
| Motor center linked to the Throat | no | yes |
| Strategy | respond | respond, then inform |
| Pace described | steady, in depth | fast, in leaps |
The possible authorities are the same: emotional if the Solar plexus is defined, sacral otherwise.
The two column test
Each evening, list the tasks you started that day. On Sunday, count the ones you finished and the ones you dropped or skipped. If your chart says Manifesting Generator and you skip a lot, check whether you missed the dropped tasks. If it says Generator and you drop things often, ask yourself whether you said yes for good reasons in the first place.
This test proves nothing about the system (see what we actually know). It tells you whether the description helps you organize your week.
